Meet THE STARS at the 2020 Convocation

Greatest Akokites,

The 52nd/2020 Convocation of the University of Lagos ended today and every attendee (physical and online) would agree that it was an epoch-making event.

As always, the highpoint of every convocation is the unveiling and presentation of academic paragons that have distinguished themselves in their various fields of study and degree category.

We proudly present to you THE STARS at the 2020 Convocation Ceremonies.

In no particular order
– EKEOSEYE, Elizabeth Osareme – Overall Best Graduating Student (CGPA 4.95)
– ATANRANSHE, Oluwaseyi Gideon – Best Graduating Student in Humanities (CGPA 4.92).
– Dr. UMUDU, Joy Chinyere (Overall Best Ph.D Thesis (Mathematics [Pure]).
– Dr. EHIOROBO, Osa Abraham – Best Ph.D Thesis in Humanities (Management)
– Dr. George Anacious Asuelimen – 70 year old and the 2nd Oldest Ph.D Graduand, UNILAG.

It is worth noting that with the exception of the Best PhD thesis in Humanities, all the STARS for this year are the opposite gender of what we had last year – we had male Overall Best Graduating Student year, a female this year; we had a female Best Graduating Student (Humanities) last year and a male this year; we had a male Overall Best Ph.D thesis last year, female this year; a female Oldest Ph.D graduand last year and a male this year). Call it gender swap or gender switching.

We celebrate you all on these great feats. Our prayers are that these will just be the spring boards for world impact.
