VISION AND MISSION OF FUT MINNA ALUMNI

The University of Technology, Minna Alumni Association started in the early nineties in Minna. Pioneer members include late Mohammed Jiya of School of Agriculture and Agric Technology as pioneer chairman and Prof Ahmed Sadauki as General Secretary. Subsequently Prof Sadauki became the Chairman.

Other chairmen of the Alumni were Prof Abdulmojeed Ijaiya and Prof Mohammed Jiya.

The association has grown over the years and many chapters have been established and inaugurated across the globe. Prominent among the inaugurated chapters are the Lagos chapter, FCT chapter, Rivers chapter. We also have chapters in the diaspora, including the UK coordinated by Mrs Adenike Ahmed-Saidu and Americas coordinated by Ademola Owolabi.

The university’s deep interest in Alumni activities brought about a very close working relationship between the leadership of the association and the successive vice chancellors in the school. This also led to the nomination of Mallam Ahmed Yahaya Alhassan the previous National President of the Association as the first representative of the Association on the University Governing Council subsequently the alumni association leadership will be permanently represented on the school governing council. This makes it possible for the Association to make direct imput into policy matters in the university in addition to other forms of intervention.

The university placed the Alumni Office directly under the office of the Registrar and supervised by the Advancement Office and at the request of the Association the Advancement Office (ADO) was upgraded to a directorate under the directorship of an Alumni. The first director of alumni extraction in accordance with this request, is the sitting director Prof Idris Nda.

The leadership of the National body currently has a fifteen member National Executive who pilot the affairs of the Alumni Association.
